How social media is the key to post-Covid business recovery

COVID-19 has affected every aspect of our lives and of course for many businesses it’s been a tough ride. Social distancing measures and repeated closures have seen profits tumble, forcing many to rethink their marketing strategies.

Stuck at home in what feels like never-ending lockdowns, the number of people using social media, and accessing businesses online, has skyrocketed. But with the country now opening back up and restrictions easing, now is as good a time as any to evaluate your social media offering and use it to maximum effect.

Social networking is one of the most effective tools businesses use for branding, marketing, customer care, sales and engagement– particularly during post-pandemic recovery. Here we take a look.

  1. It’s the chance to see where your social media is at

With things picking up, now is the perfect opportunity to audit your social media accounts to check they’re still fit for purpose. Are you posting regularly enough and what kinds of content are you publishing? Would more diverse topics be a good idea, or perhaps more polls or surveys?

Don’t forget to look at your stats too, to see which posts your users most engaged with (we’ll look at this a bit more in a minute). This can help you plan your future marketing activities, as well as weed out what worked well and what didn’t. It also gives you the chance to modify and develop your social media brand strategy going forward.

  1. Use all the social media tools possible

The brilliant thing about social media is you can measure it! Clicks, likes, dislikes, impressions – it can all be traced using the default analytics found in all the main social media networks. You can also gather further information such as user journeys, age groups, locations and which type of device they’re accessing your social media from. Again, this is all essential information when planning your next business move.

Worried this sounds like a really time-consuming job? Unfortunately it can be, especially when you’re trying to fit everything else into your day! So why not let Lead Social manage your social media for you? Find out what we can do.

  1. Ask yourself: Are your social media efforts actually benefitting your brand?

Your social media should be shouting about how amazing your products and your brand are at every turn. A great way of doing this is to share stories about how your product benefitted a customer or made their life better in some way. Posts like this are fantastic for building your brand voice and reputation whilst also being a great motivator. Why not also encourage your customers to leave a review on your page too?

There you have it, a quick look at how social media can make a big difference to business recovery post-pandemic. Why not give them a go and let us know how you get on?
