How to grow your blog in 2021

Some of the most successful blogs seem to be the simplest – but why is that? It’s quite logical really, blogs should be easy to read, short and sweet, but packed with useful stuff. There is definitely a knack to writing blogs but in this article we’ll give you the lowdown on how to engage your customers, increase your following and grow your blog in 2021.

I’ve written loads of blogs, what’s wrong with that?

Absolutely nothing my friend, but are people still reading them? If not, then take down the ones that have gone stale or are no longer relevant. Think about what your customer needs to know about -focus on current trends and what’s hot right now. Go back to your blogs once you’ve written them and pretend you are a customer. Be conversational

When you’re reading this, it feels a bit like a conversation, right? It’s chatty and flows naturally. Well that’s not an accident! You’re reading this because you’ve been hooked and want to know more. This isn’t some sort of internet wizardry, it’s just pleasant and effortless! Get the idea?

Hook your audience

Don’t bombard people with constant links and ads, that’s not what blogs are about (well, it is kind of, but you must be subtle!). If people feel like they are reading a giant advert, they will stop and find something else. You need to offer something tangible they can learn and take away with them, or else what’s the point? Build on what you’ve got

When you’ve written a successful blog, think about what it was that made it so special. Was it the subject, was it the knowledge you were imparting? Whatever it might be, use it to your advantage – write a follow up blog or pick a similar topic and link back to the first blog. It’s a really simple way to maximise your followers.

Promote your blogs

It’s one thing writing a good blog, it’s quite another to get it noticed. Use your social media platforms to raise your profile, use teaser snippets with links and get the conversation going on social media. Maximise your network

Social media is great for building a network of followers and like-minded businesses, who will in turn promote your blogs and products. Scratch their back and they will scratch yours! Make the effort to get other businesses noticed and they will repay the favour.
